Photo article: Another reason why the National Trust would have my grandfather, Sir John Winnifrith, spinning in his grave

My paternal grandfather, Sir John Winnifrith, was a Bennite so I’d imagine we would not see eye to eye on everything although, as an ardent Eurosceptic, we would have agreed on some things. I have noted before on this website, how as Director General of the National Trust, he thought the organisation’s remit was to preserve historic buildings and landscapes. Today the Trust is almost as woke as Prince Harry and wastes vast sums preaching to us all and annoying many of us who might be minded to back it. I am, for that reason, not a member.

#PeoplesVoteMarch – rampant marcher inflation and rank hypocrisy all round

Like 17.4 million other folk I put my feet up yesterday content to know that we won the #PeoplesVote on June 23 2016. But large numbers of snowflakes, Guardian readers, state sector employees, gobshite celebrities and other folks who looked like they were out on day release marched through London to tell us that we plebs had voted the wrong way on Brexit and must vote again. So how many marched?

Toff Bashing by the Daily Mail in a "post fact" era

There is nothing wrong with a bit of toff bashing now and again. The sorrow of seeing an airhead Lib Dem win the Richmond Park by-election was softened by the fact that the defeated, sort of, Tory was the slippery posh Cameron type twit Zac Goldsmith. But even in what is deemed a "post-fact era" it helps to er..get your facts right when lambasting those born with silver spoons emerging from every orifice.

If Corbyn wins Labour Leadership we will get 2 parties- can I join both this is so much fun

Being a member of the Labour Party is so much fun. Seriously it is the cheapest form of entertainment going. Okay, when I say entertainment, it is rather like having front row seats at an illegal dog fight where both contestants emerge bloodied and unfit for anything but, now that fox hunting is illegal, if you like blood sports join the Labour Party.

One of the joys are the almost daily emails from all levels of the party and from the competing factions. Each sender competes with his or her rivals or superiors and inferiors in the party hierarchy to be the most sanctimonious and pious on issues that no-one on this planet cares about, with an occasional undertone of sheer nastiness sometimes about the Tories but usually about fellow Comrades.

The other joy is, of course,

Why don't we on the right beat up Policewomen?

The picture below could have been from any demonstration over the past thirty years but as it happens it was when the rent-a-mob went after Dodgy Dave after his spot of bother with the Panama Papers. Do not for a minute think that I condone the way Dodgy Dave failed to come clean on arrangements available only to rich folk like him to reduce tax. I think it shows him to be a slippery member of the 1% but that would not make me hit a rozzer, male or female.

I suppose that we on the right just dont go on "demos" very often, whoever is in power. maybe it is because we are too busy with things like holding down ourjobs or maybe we are smart enough to realise the futility of such action. I suspect that it largely boils down to the fact that we accept the democratic will of the people and so if MPs vote for a measure it has to be pretty appalling to rouse hard working right wingers to go on a march. The last great right wing demo was for life, liberty and the countryside.

I went on that march with my, then baby, daugher on my back.

My friend Getafix, Malcolm Stacey you are just so wrong about fox hunting

Oh dear. It seems that old Getafix was imbibing the Money Tree potions last night and has decided that David Cameron is a suspect leader because he supports fox hunting. Cameron is indeed a suspect leader for all sorts of reasons (lying about giving us a vote on Europe, the new business destroying National Minimum wage, global warming, etc.) but fox hunting?
